When I returned home from work today I have noticed that somebody parked a car in front of of my house, such that half of the car remained on the street, half of the car was placed on my front yard lawn (curb divided car by half).

While I was trying to figure out whether if should go through my neighbors and ask whose car this was or if I should just take a picture of it and call the police, the car disappeared... just when I went out to take a picture of it and its license plate.

I realized that I was not ready to find myself in a situation like this. I would like to be more prepared if I will see this again. What would you do in such a situation? Would you think that it's not a big deal (hoping that sprinklers are probably not damaged), would you go through your neighbors houses or would you just call the police?

P.S. I live in Montgomery County, The Woodlands.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again or if you do notice damage to your sprinklers.

There is a house on the corner of Hillcroft and Dryad the house on the east side of Hillcroft about 2 yrs ago for 2 to 3 week there was a car that run up in the yard and touching the corner of the house right near the garage. The car was not towed during this time just really weird.

I'd have gone house to house until I found the owner. I would have explained the situation and made it clear that parking in front of your house is not an option, that's what the street or driveways are for [in front of or at the person's they are visiting], and that parking in your yard or anyone else's yard is a no no.

If no one claimed it after going that route then I'd call a tow truck and have it removed.

The Woodlands? Oh, then your HOA has probably already sent you 10 notices about it, so just get the license plate off of those.
