Hi Everyone
My husband and I are being relocated from Pittsburgh. We aren't quite sure where his new office will be, but think it's between Sugar Land and Pearland. Where should we buy a house? We have school aged kids so that's really important and the commute has to be manageable. If the office is in Sugar Land, how would the commute be to Pearland? If it's in Pearland, how would the commute be to Sugar Land?
Thanks so much!

Commute between the 2 is less than 30 minutes and traffic is light.

House is depending on budget and what you are looking for.

Pearland is more of a smaller community feel. Sugar Land is more of a diverse multi-ethnic community with better established suburbia shopping/dining. School is probably better in Sugar Land but house is more expensive.

I think you might prefer Pearland if you are coming from Pittsburgh imo and you will definitely get more housing for your money.

Either location commute is good.

Default Move from Pittsburgh

Hubby will be working near 288 and 8. How would the commute be to League City? I'm liking the reviews of CCISD. Thanks!!

What price range are you looking at? Pearland gives you easy access to the medical center and downtown.

Pearland is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. The nation's 15 fastest growing cities - Houston Chronicle.

Pearland school district was ranked #2 in the Houston area. https://k12.niche.com/rankings/publi...on-metro-area/

Surprised no one has responded. Distance-wise, it's not a long commute. Don't know about traffic issues or construction. Hopefully someone can help you with that.

If I was looking mainly at school districts, I would consider friendswood just to be a bit closer to pearland -288/bw8. Ccisd and fisd are both top notch. League city, you might want to look at westover park. Straight shot down 518 but lots of traffic. You could always live in league city near gulf Frwy/45and take 45 to bw8 and pay a few tolls for a really quicker commute to 288/bw8.

From Pearland Town Center (close to your location) to the west side of League City via FM 518 - close to 45mins when there is traffic. It's really not bad at all, just a lot of lights. The other route is interstate 45 to the beltway. This is faster, but you are rolling the dice more as far as potential traffic jams.

Pearland ISD is also pretty good. You should consider that option as well.
