Johnson Development Corp.'s Sugar Land community Riverstone to add more retail, commercial - Houston Business Journal

Any guesses on the potential future grocery store? Krogers and HEB are right down the street, could it be Randalls or Whole Foods?

Read the fine print. The first 4.6 acres aren't going to be ready for development until next year, and they haven't even put a timeline on the plot they're saying MAY have a grocery store.

There's already a Whole Paycheck available at 6 and 59, so that seems highly unlikely.

Agree. But I think if Trader Joe's comes, it will be somewhere on 6.

I want to respond to the person who left me a comment saying they hope for a 99 Ranch Market in Riverstone. I like that store as much as the next person, but there is one already so close by on 6. No way will they put another one in so close to the one already existing.

There is 0 chance there will be another Chinese Asian supermarket in Sugar Land. 2 is actually 1 too many. Welfresh, the other asian supermarket in SL is actually a new supermarket after the old one closed when 99 opened.

There is just not enough Asian customers.
