Default empty nesters relocating to Houston

I'm relocating to Houston and will be working in the energy corridor, don't have alot to spend on a home (120K), but I don't care about the schools (no kids) and am not interested in a big lawn (not intersted in the upkeep)...I do want a safe neighborhood, and a 30-45 minute commute is not a big deal to me...any help would be appreciated

Yes, there are plenty near or in the EC so your coomute would be 10 minutes. Look at HAR.COM for townhomes/condos or even rentals. Plug in zip 77024 or 77079 with the price range. Just stay away from a street called "Tully."

Hudson Oaks and The Pines are two very nice complexs. Hudson is my favorite, its about a 10 minute drive to the EC from there down Memorial. There are also some very nice townhomes near Memorial City mall, but I can't remember the name.

Also there are a ton of townhomes in the UptownGalleria/Westhaven Estates area. It would be a reverse commute to the EC and the area is hopping with activity and nightlife. Zip 77057.

Georgetown is a great place too. I know, because I am a homeowner here

We're right next to Town & Country, off of Memorial and BW 8.

The Pines is our sister property, EA! Our manager's daughter is the manager there.

There are some affordable townhomes and condos out near the Energy Corridor that you could look at. I'll try to look some up for you.

I forgot about Georgetown. I really think your area is going to appreciate even more after CityCentre is built. I'm buying over your way, only a little west.
