I live near the Medical Center as well, and have had both. I will never go back to Comcast (willingly).

Comcast cable does theoretically allow for higher internet speeds. Unfortunately, this speed is shared by your neighbors, and results in significantly below "advertised" speeds. I had a 50 mbps package that never saw higher than 10 mbps. In an apartment, this will be much worse.

Comcast customer service is the worst in the country (its actually ranked).
Congratulations To Comcast, Your 2014 Worst Company In America!

Where we're building our new home, my only option is ATT. I currently have XFinity's 50mb package, but ATT offers up to 45mb where we're moving to, so it's not a big deal. Since I currently have Directv, they just bundled the Triple Play package for us at the new place. The rep also told me that the newer communities are already being wired for ATT's new Gigapower service, which is a 1 gigabit internet connection, to compete with Google Fiber.....I can't wait for that!!!

We have had U-Verse since moving to Houston 2.5 years ago. We've been happy. We've had a couple equipment issues but they've always been fixed quickly. Customer service is good.

I've never personally had Xfinity, but my husband has had Comcast in a different area and absolutely refuses to use them again. Sure, our internet speed would probably be a little faster with them (my husband is a computer gamer so that's really important to him) but even with that, he'd rather use U-verse. That says a lot, imo. LOL. We get 24mb and that's fine for us, even with the gamer hubs.

Comcast cheaper and faster. Several friends of mine had complains about AT&T bills. Like unexpected raise - call to customer service - resolve the problem. Several times. Not a big deal but waste time for nothing.
