And it begins!!

Based on the districts "recommendation", it appears that the only high school affected by the new Fulshear High School is going to be Foster. They left the rest of the high schools untouched.

Fulshear High school automatically becomes the least "economically disadvantaged" school at only 18%, followed by George Ranch at 22%, then Foster at 28%.

they all know this is temporary and with Fulshear being so far away, it doesn't make sense to disrupt much...now when the next school opens then the fun starts....especially if that school is South of 59

It looks like George Ranch is going full steam ahead on embracing its move to 6A status come next fall, per UIL re-alignment. The former principle of George Ranch, who has since moved on to an administrative role, is championing the re-classification as an opportunity to carpe diem, if you will.

Personally, I think it's a bit naive that a large 5A high school will continue to thrive at the 6A level, especially in the non-Football sports. If George Ranch get's put into FBISD's district for football, then they stand a good chance to thrive there. If they get moved to Katy's district, you can forget it (again, this is just in regards to football. They will not thrive in the other sports, mark my words.)

Overall, I think the administration decided to avoid re-zoning George Ranch neighborhoods along FM762 that would otherwise go to Lamar/Terry because of the amount of backlash that would have resulted - a short-sighted move, in my opinion.

they know they won't be zoned to Katy ISD unless something crazy happens as you got FBISD and Alief to the North and East.....but they would probably hold their own in that district anyway as outside of katy, cinco and maybe someone else, you got cakewalks in Mayde Creek, Morton Ranch, taylor, etc....they beat Dawson and Manvel is about to weaken with Shadow Creek opening up so the powers won't be so powerful

in today's watered down landscape of Texas HS athletics...it's not far-fetched to see George Ranch compete in all sports as a 6A....if you control your attendance zone, have a great mix of athletes where talent is coming in yearly and decent coaching, your in the mix....

Allen ISD refuses to break up for football but its costing kids tons of exposure who cant crack the starting lineup
