In League City, there are some mediocre apartments that charge a 50 dollar app and 200 dollar admin fee...in my opinion, this is a little exorbitant for the quality of the complex and the prices they charge.

In fact, the app/admin is MORE expensive(only by 25 dollars, but still)than a muuuuch nicer complex in Webster. So it really kind of bothers me.

I know that all of these damn places have their stupid app/admin fees but from an economical objective with the goal of saving money am I justified in not paying 250 bucks just to apply? Yes, yes, I can choose to do whatever I want, but, is it worth giving myself grief over it?

Wow. That seems pricey. What is the security deposit like? and does it contribute towards the dec deposit?

I have never paid an app fee or admin fee in Houston for an apartment ever. Seems like someone is trying to nickel and dime to me.

The security deposit was like 100 which I'm okay with, but, that's only if you have okay credit which I do. It can go up to as high as 300 though. So it's like a 350 "move in" cost lol. Plus prorated rent. What a joke.

$350 move-in is low, especially for credit risks. For most privately owned rentals, you're going to owe the equivalent of a months rent for a deposit.

Also, why is pro-rated rent a joke if you move in mid-month?

Pro-rated rent is fine, what I meant was that in addition to the other up front "administrative" costs.
