I've found taking a picture and sending it via the website works better.

Not sure how to post a pix here:
Report a Pothole

The map of open requests doesn't look promising...

Posting on their Facebook would probably work best. You can include pix. FB usually gets fastest response...

One more place to report:
http://en.seeclickfix.com/houston <<< I like it the most! (also with an app)

Lol. It doesn't work in a timely fashion. takes over a month, a few flat tires and busted rims.

Our infrastructure is crumbling while politicians concern themselves with social agendas.

If COH doesn't respond to 311 in a timely fashion, call or email the city council member for the district where the problem is located and politely state the problem. This usually speeds things up. If it doesn't and the situation is truly horrendous, contact a local TV station.

Agreed. Oliver Pennington is the only one that gets things done. I wish he would run for mayor.

The Villages seem to take good care of the roads, but once you hit Uptown, you need a kidney transplant and new shocks.

Kirkwood through the Villages is a nightmare.

311 app is a joke if a problem is not in front of or across the street from a school that is a decent level problem it a good chance of being ignored every time the problem is reported. There is a sidewalk right across the street from a elementary school that a lot of dirt and grass grown in it right at the where the cross walk is this has been reported 3 times in the last yr and still nothing has been done about it I reported it first. This side is like a little over a 1/2 mile from my house.

Keeping a sidewalk clear of dirt, debris and grass is the responsibility of the owner whose property abuts the sidewalk, not the city's. If the sidewalk you mentioned is on property belonging to your city or municipality, you need to contact the elected council member for that district. Elementary schools ususaly have parent-teacher organizations that help with school-related matters. The PTA/PTO and the school administrators should speak up about the unusable, unsafe sidewalk.
