Leo's Mexican restaurant was owned by a youngish Mexican guy. His father, a really old 80's-something fellow around 1992 or so, had been a little boy of 7 or 7 when he rode with Pancho Villa on his trips. The old man used to sign a photo of himself with all the people in the Pancho Villa gang and give them to customers as souvenirs.
The fellow who owned the restaurant was the last kid of this Pancho Villa child sidekick, and was given to some relative or someone else to be raised. I remember he told me that. Odd by our culture, but he was the last one in a long string of kids, I think.
The father had to be in his mid-40's or early 50's when this restaurant owner was born. Maybe they were tired of having kids?
Anyway, I guess Leo's is gone now?

I grew up just west of there, around Westheimer and Shepard. We used to go to the midnite movies at the Alabama theater on shepard.I could hitchhike around town almost as fast as you could drive.I never knew at the time how much the world would change and how innocent we really were.Although we thought that we were hard core.(we weren't)
