Around the same time your acceptable 18,000 sq ft lot in Atascacita was anywhere close to the area we were talking about.

Sorry Pedro, an 18,000 sq ft lot in Atascacita is not "good sized". It is small and unacceptable in my view.

Having lived in Atascocita for the last 2.5 years, I would consider 18k sq ft to be a huge lot. A lot of the houses/communities around here seem to be right on top of each other.

A 65x125 lot, hardly unusual in suburbia, is 8,125 square feet. I lived in California for awhile, that kind of suburban lot would be extremely generously sized. So I find it odd that folks think this represents houses "practically on top of one another." Granted 50' and 60' wide lots aren't unusual either, but the depth is still usually at least 100'. I guess peoples' perceptions of lot size have a wide distribution depending on where they're from etc. On this forum people from New England seem to find anything smaller than 1/2 acre to be tiny, I guess because of the ridiculous large-lot zoning in place in suburbia there.

I didn't mention japan but you did in your pm, is Harris county would certainly be the most relevant but again median size isn't a range either

I followed the link to the data YOU provided, and since the five sizes were ranges, the middle range was the median range.

If you'd like to discuss sizes of lots across the globe, point us to the data and we can see how a 7,000 sq ft lot compares.

Right now, I just used YOUR data for both the US and our region and showed the average size as well as the median range.

Don't get upset when I use the information YOU provided.

Again, we are not talking about the region or Atascacita. We are talking about lots inside or close to the inner 610 loop of houston, TX. And from W. 30th street in Garden Oaks I could **** on the 610 feeder road on a windy day.

OK, small 7,000 sq ft lots are actually large in comparison to most lots close to the core.
