One of my friends is moving to Kingwood and asked my advice on schools and neighborhoods. I don't know a whole lot about the area.

She wants a home for less than $400,000, good middle/high school, and trees. Her husband works downtown, so easier access to the highway is preferred.

Thanks!

Front has easiest access but back has best schools so they need to pick.

I spent most of my time growing up in the back of kingwood. None of the schools are bad all are decent to more than decent. Only far back takes a really long time to get out (fosters mill, sandcreek, kings Pointe, green tree and those newer ones in the far back). Anything before west houston parkway isnt as bad but traffic on kingwood drive is what it is. Same terrible suburban traffic jams that exist on all the suburban main roads

Less than 400k is plentiful but not luxury

I also grew up in the back of kingwood. Agree with above posts. Maybe west end of the KHS boundry will work best.

I'll add that at that time there was only KHS, not Kingwood park HS. Not sure if the quality of the schools changed in the front end of kingwood, but I think they are still good, just not as good as the back end.
