KK Glazed Donut ingredient list:

Enriched bleached wheat flour- (contains bleached wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine, mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), dextrose, vegetable shortening (partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oil), water, sugar, soy flour, egg yolks, vital wheat gluten, yeast, nonfat milk, yeast nutrients (calcium sulfate, ammonium sulfate), dough conditioners (calcium dioxide, monocalcium and dicalcium phosphate, diammonium phosphate, sodium stearoyl-2-lacrylate, whey, starch, ascorbic acid, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate), salt, mono-and-diglycerides, ethoxylated mono- and diglycerides, lecithin, calcium propionate (to retain freshness), cellulose gum, natural and artificial flavors, fungal alpha amylase, amylase, maltogenic amylase, pantosenase, protease, sodium caseinate, corn maltodextrin, corn syrup solids and BHT (to help protect flavor).

Glaze also may contain: Calcium carbonate, agar, locust bean gum, disodium phosphate, and sorbitan monostearate.

Now, if this is something you guys only plan on eating once in a while, as a small part of a wholesome diet, then I see no problem here. I get the feeling that is not the case, however. With that said...you're welcome.

If trans fats ever become outlawed, I hope that puts Krispy Krap out of business.

Thank you, Surgeon General for pointing out what we should and shouldn't eat.
Am I allowed to have a soda with my artery-clogging donut?

I wouldn't recommend it.

I just can't understand why people who live in one of the nation's greatest food cities are all bubbly about the arrival of yet another chain serving a terrible product. If you don't like Shipley's, that's fine, but they aren't the only game in town. There has to be a superior donut somewhere in Houston.

A healthy person is a happy person.

It's not for you to understand. Eat what you want and we'll do the same.

I mean, I do understand that they taste pleasing. So do Hot Pockets.

But to pretend that this is some high quality product long overdue in the Houston area...get real.

Shall we get you a piece of broccoli?

Why be so judgmental over what other people might enjoy?
Who are you to tell someone what they should or should not eat?
It's truly up to each individual person.

And yes...I will have a Krispy Kreme donut on my cheat meal days. Even took a 45 min cab drive for them in Florida. It's just something some people enjoy!

Don't they sell KK at Krogers? When I went years ago, I remember seeing it there.

They did when the stores were here. Once the stores closed (2006), they weren't available in the Houston area at all.

Exactly!!

Too funny. I took a cab ride in Florida to KrispyK after a cruise a few years ago too.
