Tell Me About Sugar Land
We want trees like in Kingwood. Where can I find out about Sugar Land and what it has to offer.

I replied to your other thread and figured I'd chime in here too. Sugarland is a nice area and has good schools. I think you could easily find a nice home in a nice neighborhood and would be conducive to your husbands job. I would guess a Kingwood/Sugarland commute would probably be at least 1.5 hours each way without any fender benders.
Good luck with your search.

You won't find trees like Kingwood in Sugar Land. Not naturally, anyway. More deciduous trees & grasslands will be found there. This is basically in the entrance to South Texas zone.

I think Money magazine rated Sugarland one of the best places to live recently.

New Territory, Greatwood, and First Colony all have an abundance of trees and landscaping. The majority are live oaks 10-20 years old. It's a lot different than Kingwood's tall pine trees. Personally I prefer the live oaks, I've never cared for pine forests. What you'll want to avoid are the newer developments since these areas were originally open farmland and trees havn't had time to grow.
