I think this plan would be a mistake. I don't have numbers but I think the number of cars traveling through on 610 from north of 10 to south of 59 is relatively small. It would have to include access to 10 and 59 so that it could be a connector between those two to make a big difference. But the number of ramp required for that would make it very expensive.

I drive 610 twice each day. There are a lot of cars that travel on 610 that do not get off 59 going south or I-10 going north. Your idea would just be to widen the freeway, and it would do little to alleviate the congestion

1. Adding lanes in general is one of the main ways to alleviate congestion.

2. The elevated express lanes would only have access to and from 610 59 and I-10 in his idea, but not any local exits in between.

yes and that is exactly why it would improve the flow of the West Loop - it would encourage all those who do not need to exit to get off that stretch of road and take the elevated lanes.
