Pearland or Sugar Land for your budget. Meadows place is good if you can find a home you like. It's a small area.

Friends wood is good too, but longer commute.

Pearland will give you the most bang for your buck, with a relatively large lot. Lots are typically small in the Houston area.

Check on Har.com for homes in your budget.

Look in pearland. Decent schools and closest to med center in your price range.

If you can bump your budget to $275 to $300k you can live in Westbury 77035 which is a really nice neighborhood only like 8 to 12 miles away

Are you paying cash or go by a mortgage payment on a 275-300 home? Make sure to take into consideration taxes in the Houston area which range from 2-4% annually. Many relocating do not realize how high the taxes are in and around the Houston area. Best of Luck!
