Thank you. This exactly.

Specifically, what do you feel makes a city "progressive"?

Straw argument. The wording is the same as 200 other cities in the US with no issues but Houston balked.

I'm very familiar with the wording. When this was being debated prior to the vote, we posted the wording here and demonstrated that it clearly would result in men being able to enter the women's room if they chose.

You can say that's a straw argument all you would like, but it is the truth.

It's definitely NOT progressive. It IS diverse, but that's a very different. If anything, Houston's diversity is owing to its willingness to exploit, exploit, exploit without regard. It is a city that has grown in lock step with global capitalism, and global capitalism is its logic.

I'd still like to have someone list the specific traits that make a city progressive.

The definition of progressive (as a noun) is:

"a person advocating or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas"

By this definition, Houston is not progressive. Houston's ideas are far from new or even liberal. The mindset of Houston (politically) is "leave me alone and in turn Ill leave you alone.".

All American cities have grown in "lock step" with Global Capitalism, which makes perfect sense because the United States of America is the Champion and number one purveyor of "Global Capitalism". If anything you just indicted the U.S.A. as a non-progressive force for world change.

I dont consider the US as a whole to be progressive. I think Canada is far more progressive than the US.
