He's done a lot of good stuff, but his ego is now overshadowing it. Over-inflated sense of self-importance now.

It depends.

If he feels this would be "good for business" and add to the bottom line, it would appear to make sense.

If he's doing it for self-aggrandizement, it would be for his ego.

Because the article didn't say much about the "deal", it's hard to say which it is.

Since advertising and PR can be pricey, free promotions for his properties and brand might make this a very good deal for him.

Personally, I just see this as more bad tv.

Tillman Fertitta is part of Gamming royalty, and a true asset to Houston. His family helped transform Las Vegas into the gambling resort that it is. Of course this happened because the Texas Rangers ran their gambling enterprises out of Galveston in the 1950's and they ended up in Vegas. They ran the Balinese Room on the Seawall Operated by Sicilian immigrant barbers-turned-bootleggers Sam and Rosario Maceo, the Balinese Room was an elite spot in the 1940s and 1950s (Galveston's open era), featuring entertainment by Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, George Burns, The Marx Brothers and other top acts of the day.[1] Patrons of the private club included Howard Hughes, Sophie Tucker and wealthy oil barons from nearby Houston.[2]

Well it was the Mafia that built Las Vegas and controlled gamming until it was legalized, and now the Maceos nephew Tillman Fertitta is a legitimate business tycoon who has many different businesses in several different sectors
