My brother-in-law needs to find an apartment in Katy or as close as possible. He works at the Academy distribution center there. He really needs to find an affordable apartment, preferably under $500 if possible. Really would appreciate any advice. Thank you

This is too far from Katy

Once I saw super run down apartment complex in Spring Branch area, much closer to Katy. There were large craters in the ground / driveways like after WWII heavy artillery fire. I am not sure if places like these are listed anywhere on a web. That place looked very very depressive, but I am not sure if you can find anything better for $500.
Another option - only room in a house. Definitely can fit within this budget and will be closer to his location of interest.
