So my first year in Cypress and I'm seeing these big beetles outside of my house. They seemed to be attracted to light. Are there any remedies (prefer naturally) to get rid of them?

This is their season. They will be gone in a couple of months. They are pretty harmless little guys..

Those are commonly called June bugs. Unless everyone in your area treats their lawn for grubs you aren't getting rid of them.

They're harmless. Use a yellow light bulb and they won't be attracted.

June Bugs are unavoidable down here. Sorry.

"If you are looking for an organic method for how to kill June bugs, you can build a June bug trap. Use a jar or a bucket and place a white light at the top of the container with an inch or two of vegetable oil at the bottom of the jar or bucket. The container should be open so that the June bug can fly in towards the light. They will fall into the oil below and be unable to fly away again."

No reason to kill them.

Yep, harmless, and apparently they are super tasty snacks to larger wildlife. They don't live long anyways, so even if you kill them, which you shouldn't, you aren't really accomplishing anything.

We sweep them up and feed them to our chickens. Takes our 5 hens about 15 seconds to go through a few hundred of them.
