Why are there so many road rage in Houston? I moved from Northeast coast area where we have a reputation for bad driving and road rage, so prior to moving to Houston, I had the impression that people here would be a bit more patient and calm on the road, but its not the case at all. I've seen so many aggressive drivers and violent road rage here.

Honestly I'm scratching my head over this bolded statement, not the road rage incident.

I lived in NYC for many years. I rode the subway quite a bit during that time. I have seen fights over lot less down there. A slight bump, an accidental stare, fighting over seat, somebody holding a door, etc. you need it they would fight over it.

People will fight over anything, so cars have nothing to do with this. As a matter of fact, studies have shown summer months murder and crime rate go up significantly.

Nah op, Houston drivers aren't patient one bit. Seems like so many have to commute so far each day it prob just wears on em. more patient, calm and friendlier drivers begin in Austin/ SA and on westward to the US. People drive even crazier in Louisiana and feel some of that has been brought into Houston traffic. Get someone mad enough, and they'll prob be pointing their gun at ya too.

I don't disagree. I'm saying, that a majority of the population in Houston utilizes car (area for aggravation) and they spend a lot time in said cars (piles on-top of the aggravation)
