Good warning to the guy but y'all forgot that Texas has WAY better AC units than NYC or the northeast in general. Powerful central AC everywhere. I only felt the heat stepping out of my car before I entered some place. When I was in NYC I dealt with the heat much worse because I was walking everywhere, it was dirty and the AC in a lot places sucked.
In Houston, I'd work out in the cool gym and then swim in the outdoor pool. Swimming in the heat and humidity feels SO good. Water is refreshing. Water is always too cold here in LA even in high temps. Most apts have to heat their pools.

Yes, The AC here is cranking all the time. I usually take a light jacket is we go out to dinner or a movie because it gets too cold. I hate being cold. Bring on summer!

So far this year it has been pretty pleasant temp wise. April was a very cool month and most of May has as well. We will see our first 90+ temps in the next few weeks but I don't see how anybody could complain about the temps in Houston so far in 2016.

OP,

I loved the weather between Jan-mid April, and then Oct-Dec. Beautiful weather. Near the same levels or at the same level as Southern California.

Six and a half months out of the year of nice, sunny low humidity weather. It's just from May to October, the weather turns hot, moist, and sometimes rainy, even thunderstorms. Spring is awesome. Fall is awesome. Winters can get cold but it's only because of cold fronts that blow in making it freezing. Other than that, if you can stand five to six months of heat then go for it. But I am telling you it won't burden you if you have a car with great AC and you'll be indoors more than half the time. There is also always easy access to nice pools.

I LOVE hot weather and Summers here are smoking hot. People begin complaining about the heat in May and a few whiners in April and go through October. I whine if it gets into the 60s or below. It's all on how your body's thermostat is. If you have problems with ny heat, you'd definitely have issues here.
