OK Dallas is hot but let's not say it is as humid as Houston. I grew up in Dallas and about the only month I can't handle is August, when everyone goes to Europe, LaJolla or Texas-owned Colorado. I can't handle the humidity in Miami or DC. I can stand the Houston humidity as long as there is no petro-smell.

As in Houston and Austin, the cool areas in Dallas are close-in (East Dallas/Lakewood/Ellum/Lower Greenville/Mstreets/Knox-Henderson, Oak Lawn/Cedar Springs, North Oak Cliff/Stevens Park/Kessler Park/Bishop Arts and Southside/Cedars/Lamar also downtown and the design district are coming along... anyway these are the 'laid-back' places you might also consider.

But, Austin and Houston are his choices, not Dallas.

I've found that the difference between Dallas humidity and Houston humidity is that it's noticeably less humid in Dallas at night. Houston evenings are muggier. During the day, though, the higher average temperatures during the day combined with relatively similar humidity makes the afternoons in Dallas feel a little bit more oppressive.

Austin and Houston are nice cities.

However, Austin is sorely overrated. It deserves to rated highly in terms of quality of life and what not, but it shouldn't be kissed up to.

Houston is very underrated. Period. It is a city that has up and come and is continually up and coming with the best in the arts, culture, dining, entertainment, and recreation that the southern tier of the country has to offer.

How are you going to tell me?

I know that. I was saying Houston has over four million more people than Austin.

So yeah, 5.8m - 1.5m = 4.3m, which is clearly "over 4 million...," just as he said.

Phoenix, AZ is HOT. The high summer temps for Dallas and Houston are a cool summer day compared to southern AZ.
