Glad you didn't go off bad advice and end up zoned to Cypress Creek.

Thank you! This area looks very pretty and has much of what we are looking for. Do you know if these areas are prone to flooding?

We have been so busy over here that I have not had time to update our situation. So my husband DID get the job in Cyfair and he has to start in his office on Sep 6th. We put our house up for sale here at home last week and so I guess the kids and I will stay here to sell the house while he lives in Cypress and comes home on the weekends. I am not looking forward to that phase at all..

We have been to Cypress area now about 5 times for interviews and now house hunting. We have looked at a lot of homes and I think we've narrowed it down areas...but it is very hard. The tax rates there really surprised us in some of the newer neighborhoods! I think we looked at a spec home in Northpointe and the tax rate was close to 3.5! That. is. insane.

So we left there and as nice as that area seemed, we just can't pour that much money per year in taxes. So now we are trying to stay in older areas..but as of right now, there doesn't seem to be a lot of homes in our price range (up to 300K) in those areas (ex. Longwood area) on market. Any other area suggestions to explore would be welcomed! We have not looked into Coles Crossing yet, any input about this area? We would like to stay between 290 and 249. I want to be near all the "Mom" stores...you know Target, HEB, Costco....ha! My husband will be working at 290 and Jones area. Thanks for your suggestions and any advice on the area is so welcomed!

If you want to be close to tall trees and close to Costco, HEB, and good school districts check out champions forest , champions, huntwick forest. No tall pine trees in new neighborhoods just the blazing sun.

Blazing sun is right! Ugghh...that is a major down fall to picking a new neighborhood for sure. We love the tree shade! Thank you for the suggestions!

We have officially moved in (Wildwood at Northpointe)...taking a break from unpacking...thought I would never pay 3 percent plus on taxes...but we want to be here a good while, it's at the end phase and MUD taxes will drop, plus homestead exemption kicks in. We snagged a deal from a builder (140k off original listing) and couldn't say no. I really like Longwood and Rocks Creek areas, close to your mommy stores and look nice! We wanted under 3000 sq ft said many existing neighborhoods have well over that. Just keep searching this zip code for what you like! Good luck on house sale! We had to buy before selling other (relo) penalties..but will just keep dropping until it sells...yuck
