Hello there! We are potentially moving to Cypress area in August. My husband would be working off Cypress Creek Pkwy between 290 & 245. Here is what we are looking for. Thanks for the help!

*Budget: 315K for at least 4 bedrooms and would also need some sort of flex space.
*Tax rates in the area? We are used to paying over 3% prop tax...please tell me it's lower there!
*Utilities: Are rates pretty good for elec, water, and internet/cable?
*We homeschool....any programs that you can tell me about for us? For example, here we have a one day program they attend to do Science, Art, Music, PE, and Spanish. Still want to live in a great school feeder pattern in case they do go back.
*Safe areas and ones to avoid.
*Want to be close to a nice HEB and not too far from a Costco, Target, etc...
*We love trees, especially the big tall pines!

Thank you again

Welcome! We are in a similar situation, moving there next week. If you buy a house 6+ years old you might get tax rates under 2.8...but most new ones can go a full point north of that. Do file homestead exemption, it will save you down the road.
We homeschooled all years, but our senior will dual enroll this last year. Loads of homeschool groups. NCFCA and STOA have outstanding speech/debate clubs if your kids are over 12...we visited Cypress and liked it..we want to be more central to Houston..so not sure where we'll end up
Post updates, but you should find the nice tall pines in Cypress easily

We just bought a home in the 77429 zip code. Off Grant Rd. near Telge. HEB is just down the road. It's quiet. We don't have any immediate neighbors yet because they're still building around us but the neighbors down the street are lovely. Our neighborhood has like, three different Facebook pages that people post on regularly. We've enjoyed it so far. Our neighborhood is well under your budget, but there are some other nice communities just immediately around us in the higher/nicer budgets (around yours). Off the top of my head Rock Creek is just down the road and looks very nice.

just bought a home on cypress creek lakes. Basically Zoning on cypress for the schools has a lot to do with the Price tag of the home.

i shopped on bridgeland and cypress creek lakes communities because of the schools. Bridgeland is nice we didnt like that the houses were kind of close to each other. Bridgeland has great trails and nature i liked that.

Bought on cypress creek lakes because it was close to tuckerton and i got a corner lot.

I needed a 3 car garage so my options were really limited.

we are moving on a month !!!

Do you happen to know any facebook groups for this area? We would be moving from NW Austin area (Leander/Cedar Park) and there are many facebook groups for homeschoolers that I look at regularly. I would like to go ahead and start looking around down there to see what we may be able to enroll in. I would love to find a school that meets only one day a week to do science and some other extra curriculars such as art and music!

Just completed our contract to live in Wildwood which is zoned to Tomball Memorial HS. HEB, Sam's, etc is not far away. Great schools are all basically within the subdivision. Very excited!

Texas Real Estate - 177,235 Homes for Sale and Rent- HAR.com is what you need. Plug in your wants and go. Property taxes are much higher in Cypress. Look around Champion Forest. You can get a little less than 3%. In Cypress, it's mostly over 3% especially in newer 2000 and up areas.

I did a search and I'm assuming you have 4-5 kids so I'd buy this house in a heartbeat. 18411 Big Cypress Dr, Spring, TX 77388 - HAR.com

Check out Longwood, Lakewood Glen, Coles Crossing, Northlake Forest, and Quail Forest. Many great choices, great schools, demographics, trees, nature, etc. Taxes in the established parts of Cypress run around 2.7%
