Default People outside in Cypress Tx?

I have heard and read that you do not find people/neighbors outside in Houston. I understand when it's very hot and humid, but what about the other times? In Fairfield where I visited there are lots of little parks and pools, people must use these don't they? We are considering a move, we have children and they are outside all the time! I hate to think you never see anyone out and about walking, riding bikes, playing...

Folks are outside all the time, just not in the heat of the day during the middle of summer if they can help it. Any other time is fair game. The neighborhood pool is a good place to meet people.

My neiborhood was jammed packed with people outside this weekend. Kids playing, riding bikes...folks walking and jogging.

I think that despite the midsummer heat, Houston is actually a pretty outdoorsy city.

That is simply not true that people stay indoors here. People are out all the time, just not in the heat of the day as there are many days with heat warnings. Pools are always full in the summertime, it is an absolute kid favorite and your kids will always find friends at the local pools. Even children who have their own pools at home visit their neighborhood pools to socialize and many times kids will gather at someones home who has a pool.

The parks in my neighborhood were pretty packed on Sunday. Houston actually has pretty decent weather from Late October thru Mid May.

He is adorable and looks like he is having fun! I used to take mine to boudreaux(did I spell that right ?) park when they were little , we went to all the little festivals and family fun days that were put on by the police dept.
That is a great park.

There are lots and lots of people who do outdoor pursuits in Houston and lots of things to do. There are also plenty of lazy folk here, too.

I can also tell you that the neighborhood 4th of July parade begins outside my front door every year and there are several hundred people (and dogs, cars, bikes, wagons) lined up and ready to roll to the club house. Funny since we are Brits and so are pulled into the celebrations by default!
