I'm from out of town and viewed a house on a dead-end street near Pinehurst Trail. Pinehurst Trail looks to be a main street that should be busy, since it's parallel to W. Lake Houston Pkwy, but it hasn't been busy when I was there.

Does anyone know if that street gets really busy at night, or during rush hours, so that traffic is backed up? I also would have to walk alongside that street to go to the next street to walk the dogs.

So I was wondering about being able to get out on that street, since the house is on a dead-end, and being able to walk alongside the street a ways to get to more walkable neighborhoods (again, since the house is on a dead-end).

Geez, I hate dead-ends, but I'm having to be way more flexible, in order to find a house in this market. I'd appreciate any information that anyone can give.

Are you referring to the part north or south of 1960? The part south of 1960 near the Atascocita United Methodist church can get crowded on Sunday mornings and at day school pick up and drop off times. The part north of 1960 is not too busy.

Oh....north of 1960. In area of 17th Green and Pinehurst Trail.

Thanks so much for your fast response. There's already an offer coming in on the house from someone else. This really is a seller's market!

Keep in mind that 1960 and West Lake Houston is about to be going through an enormous revamp in about a year that is going to be great once complete but a nightmare while happening. I believe this will cause an increased amount of traffic on Pinehurst as people try to divert around.

Edit: here is the most basic TXDot info, let me find more details.

Well, I think the timeline was pushed back, because it appears this won't start for about 4 more years.

Very helpful. Pinehurst Trail is likely to become very busy during the construction phase. Still, eventually that will end. But something to consider. Thank you.

Same here....I lived in Atascocita for about 3 years and loved it! Built a home in New Caney, but my church/friends all live in the Atascocita/Humble/Kingwood area so we're always there. If it weren't for the horrid traffic, we would've built in The Groves or Bridges on Lake Houston. The Houston Northeast 'burbs are the best part of town in my book.

I just don't know if I could handle the rumbling noise of a train going through the middle of the neighborhood as far as The Bridges goes.

Of course, people might wonder how I can live under the IAH approach, so....
