I loved the pics a tour down memory lane... I used to go clubbing at Numbers in High School, I got my first tattoo at Shaws, I also worked at Massa's as a waitress in the early 90's. Remember when they had concerts downtown" Party on the Plaza" I also worked at Longhorn Cafe on Louisiana downtown

When did 4th ward become Midtown nothing Mid about it. Its the 4th ward river oaks area.

And, it is kinda, sorta mid-ish if you're squinting and tilting your head 43 degrees down and to the left. It is sorta "mid" between Downtown and the TMC. Then again, Upper Kirby is also sorta "mid" between Downtown and the Galleria (Uptown). I think it's silly we use Manhattan terms that make no geographical sense here to describe our neighborhoods. I'd like to see the city's residents reverting back to using the old neighborhood names. We should call Midtown Little Saigon, and we could call the Galleria just the Galleria, without that goofy Uptown appellation.
