Mr. Krinkle hit the nail on the head. Thank you! I still miss those sandwiches from Florida and tried El Rey as well as Cafe Piquet, neither one really measured up. It's like the first time you try a banh mi from a popular spot in china town vs one of those places near midtown. It's just not quite there...

I'm disappointed someone said Korean food is no good in Houston. I have a craving for really good Korean BBQ.

There is some very good authentic Korean food along Longpoint (between Gessner and Blalock)

And yes, you are probably eating it wrong

Hugo's (it's a high end restaraunt)
Chachura green mole is good
La Mexicana is more tex--mex, but has good mole
