GIAcakes is on a distinguished road
Default calling all MN transplants in Houston!!!

Can some Minnesotans that have relocated to Houston give me their feelings on their move?

I have lived in the Twin Cities all my life (35 yrs) and want to move somewhere warm. We have children so we want to make sure we are making the right choice. I know everyone has their opinions and different things they are looking for, but I would still love to hear your thoughts and stories.

Of course, people we know think we are crazy. We have good schools and it is clean here. But we are tired of the weather and high cost of living.

I hear you, but don't be surprised if you nearly pass out in our summers here. Even November can be 90 degrees, and December 85... Schools are terrible, and you better take a crash course in Spanish...

I am not trying to discourage you, I am just being honest about things so you won't be surprised.
