You might be able to find something cheaper, take a look at Har.com. Call a realtor some of them handle rentals they might be able to find something in your price range.

I originally looked at renting a house instead of an apt while I was trying to decide where to buy a house (I hadn't lived in an apt in at least 20 years), but then I started thinking about the extra expenses I would have in a house (lawn service, bigger space = bigger utility bills, etc). And the houses I looked at were running $100 to $200 more per month. I figured that the extra expenses would amount to a good $500 per month more than the apt, $500 a month that could be put toward closing costs.

I think If you kind a private owner that you should be able to find something for $800 for 3 bedroom I live in Cinti and it's expensive but we have private owners that have places but with no bells and whistles like a pool or exercise room. Good luck
