Need Advice On Splendora
I have lived in NYC most of life excluding the past 4 years where I have resided in NJ. We are thinking about moving to Splendora. My boyfriend lived there for about 4 yrs awhile back and he loved it.We have two children and this we will a big move for us. I would like some advice on the area, the jobs, the schools and any other helpful hints would be appreciated.

Bumping an Old thread :-D
I've lived in Splendora going on 13 Years. I graduated from Splendora High school, and am Currently in Management. I would Say That Splendora is a Rapidly Growing City, seeing as I remember when there was Nothing here but a Citgo, Archies, and the Store on the Corner of 59 and 2090 that Always Flooded.
Pretty Much this would be the Only place I'd rather live. Here is my personal reason as to why:
Races in Splendora:
White Non-Hispanic (92.0%)
Hispanic (5.3%)
Other race (1.8%)
American Indian (1.2%)
Two or more races (1.2%)
Nothing Personal against anyone, just saying, lol.
The Schools are nice and again are growing. I remember back in 1994-1995 We had 4 Schools Total, Now I think we're running up on 6 - 7 Schools? They all have good programs along with a Nice Band, in case you have any children in Band.
Local Businesses:
Archies ( Been here since the very beginning)
First Bank and Trust
Dollar General
Nail Salon
Sweets and Meats ( Great BBQ)
Sonic, Jack in the Box
Flower Shop
Wildcat Cafe
Chevron, Valero, Citgo, Flying J
Post Office, Skating Rink, Park
And many many more.
This is also a Heavily Wooded Area which is slowly fading away due to the Population Increase. The Neighborhoods for the most part are very quiet and have a low crime rate (Always Have been). The people are nice, and don't generally bother you... at all lol. The Only Loud Noises would be the Train, which in the Summer time, you can not hear, but in the Winter time it echoes like none other.
The Only thing I'm going to warn you about is the Patton Village Police. They set up any and all speed traps they can muster up to pull you over or catch you doing something wrong. Patton Village is a Smaller town south of Splendora which everyone that I've ever spoke to who Knows where Splendora is, knows NOT to speed through Patton Village.
So, If you plan to look for a New place to live, I recommend Taking a visit first. I would not want to live anywhere else personally, but that is my own opinion, you should visit before making any kind of major Decision .
Good luck, If you have any questions, just reply

not to mention a well subsidized police force. if you ever need a cop in splendor, just drive down highway 59 at 66 MPH :d
ax me how i know ;-)
I use to live a few miles from spendora, I thought it was a good place to live. houston is rapidly growing north also.

Why through your personal email out there for all to see and get hold of? The OP can send you a direct message through this thread. Might want to take that off.

Wow, I just looked up the population of Splendora and City Data says there are 1769 people living there. Since there are something like 19,675 people living in my community in New Territory, I can't even imagine how small Splendora must be.

It is a small Texas town that someday will be a Houston suburb. Like Rosenburg,Richmond,Fresno,Fulshear,Katy,Conroe etc... we just keep sprawling and sprawling

Eventually I think Houston will have "suburbs" all the way to Dallas, Austin and San Antonio if we keep going at this rate!!
It will kind of be like driving from Dallas to Fort Worth. Most people do not differentiate those as 2 different cities! This is because when you leave one a drive to the other, you go through all these other smaller cities so it just looks conintuous! Never mind that it took you almost 2 hours to get from one to the other! And that you go through cities like Hurst, Euless, Bedford, etc.

Hey Ya'll, I am wanting info on the Splendora area and New Caney. I am from Humble and have been away about 10 yrs. We are thinking of moving back, but have heard some really bad things about Houston and metro. Has it really gotten that bad? I know Katrina did a number, has that settled down any? Maybe they went back home. Thanks.
