I will admit that sometimes I wonder if they'd do even better if they just shut down and turned their better factories over to Toyota.

I'm curious, Asian Couple in 77036, were you born in the US or in Asia? I'm wondering what your opinion of making Sharpstown into a more freewheeling Asian kind of mall.
Race has little to do with Sharpstown's future success. If they can get someone to invest in the building and really refurbish it, there just may be a future for the mall. The neighborhood is in a prime location. Once lightrail reaches Sharpstown via 59, property values will go through the roof. All of you that are so quick to bash Sharpstown should really drive around some of the residential neighborhoods. They sky is the limit with Sharpstown.

Another 30 years of existence but the result was the same. They came back for the government for bailouts. Again only delayed the inevitable.

I'm assuming you are talking to me.
I was born in the US, my wife from China.

The Asian community is moving west of the Beltway, not east of the beltway. Not to bring race in, but where the Whites go Asians Follow. Its not a race thing, but flight for the same reasons.

Despite being a "Minority" group we're treated similarly as Whites in regards to government policies. I think I'm just ranting now.

Asians especially the recent immigrants live in a vacuum where they live and shop in China town. HK Mall and other small malls that cater to the Asian community. How else do you think Viet Hoa plaza can compete against the Walmart and HEBs in the area. (Beltway and Beechnut area)

I guess if you buy brands like Levi and Arizona, You can find them for under $100.

I'd usually go to a Ross or TJ Maxx and find irregular namebrand jeans marked down from around $90 to just under $30.

Oh well, Maybe I don't know how to shop, I am a man afterall and it's not in my DNA.

I'm with you lol

I rarely ever spend over 50 dollars for jeans, unless I just want them that bad.

I'm sad this is happeneing, not suprised but sad, I grew up going to that mall. I have a lot memories at this mall, but I do understand it has to be done because its going down hill, the mall has turned into a ghost town. I remember this mall use to be the hottest malls around, we use to after school and just pick up girls.

I've been noticing a good number of whites moving into Sharpstown, at least in my neighborhood.

They should demolish it and use the space for a prison. There is a need for it in the area.

Yea, because prisons usually do wonders for the quality of life in the surrounding areas. I wonder how the realtors would try to spin that...

"3bed/2bath classic 1960s home located in Sharpstown near a prestigious government-sponsored life improvement center."

On second though, they should just turn it into a massive YMCA instead!

Irregulars? Who in their right mind would buy those badly shaped jeans?

Responding to J. Luke: There's always a sale at Macy's! Look all over the clearance racks too and watch for coupons (especially if you're a Macy's card holder).
