My area won't be on any list, and that's just fine. Houses are cheap and the schools are part of Clear Creek ISD. Best of all, it takes me about 9 minutes to go to work, and I don't have to drive on the freeways. Houston, in some ways, reminds me of Las Vegas. One is hot and the other is hot and humid. You can try, but there is no way to fight nature. No matter where you are in this city she reminds you are in Houston much of the year.

I have to say that just because a school is on the "top" list doesn't make it the ideal place to live. There are alot of great neighborhoods and areas with good schools that are never considered. Your child will only do as well as he/she is willing to do. If the school and surrounding area is "safe" and the people are nice and the area is close to work and the amenities are what you are looking for, then it should be considered. As someone else said, everyone's favorite community will be the are they live in or are from.
People LOVE The Woodlands and for the same reasons, other people HATE The Woodlands, it just depends on what you want. Some LOVE the city of Houston and others HATE the suburbs, and vice-versa, it is all in what you are looking for. If Katy is your thing, then move to Katy. If you love Lake Conroe, then move there. If the inner loop works for you, then focus there.
