If Houston's black population grows by 230,000 this decade like it did the last decade, it will have about the same as Alabama. I think Houston's black population could actually grow faster than that this decade. Hell, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of me adding to that later this decade.

My god I believe you on a purely factual basis, but in visiting the two, and having a fair amount of experience on the street by street level. Chicago still "feels" like it has alot more african americans, alot more people in general honestly.

True, but it won't be a cakewalk though.

Also, Spade, Houston needs to look at DFW supassing it's black population than it surpassing Alabama's. LOL!

DFW
727,804 (2000)
982,634 (2010)
+254,830
=35% growth rate
=21% of DFW's raw population growth

HOUSTON
799,936 (2000)
1,029,880 (2010)
+229,944
=28% growth rate
=18.6% of Houston's raw population growth

2000 Difference: 799,936-727,804=72,132
2010 Difference: 1,029,880-982,634=47,246

This is just some fun math that I LOVE to do. Also, DFW can surpass Houston. Atlanta skyrocketed pass both of them; well, Houston to be exactly.

DFW's black population has grown faster than Houston's black population for the past 20 years. I don't know why that is because I believe Houston is more popular amongst blacks than Dallas especially the younger Blacks. But that's what it has been the last 20 years.

I was thinking the same. From the media, I surprised that Houston didn't had at least more than 300,000-350,000 blacks during last decade.
