Default Relocating need help finding best school district

Ok this might get long and I did search to see if this had already been answered but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Note: I grew up on the east side of Houston (Crosby) so that's what I know. Hubby works out of Pasadena but his works sites (he does work at plants) vary from Texas city, Freeport, Pasadena, Deer Park, Channelview etc. Neither of us really wish to stay in Crosby because the schools (I went there and didn't care for them and from what I've read on greatschools.net there hasn't been much improvement since I graduated).

Some places we are considering (currently he drives 45mins to most the sites he works at. I just base everything on no further than 45mins approx from Pasadena):

Friendswood
Deer Park
Kingwood
Clear Lake
League City
Possibly Sugar Land
Other suggestion??

My only concern with some of the areas is since neither one of us is from there we don't know the good/bad areas. We're looking to rent as we're trying to pay off debt before buying a house (looking to spend no more that $1200/mo on rent).

I guess my overall question is...in your opinion what's the better district AND where are the places to check out/places to avoid (i.e. street names, neighborhoods, zipcodes, etc). I've been trying to google and find as much as I can on my own but I'm completely stressed now.

I'd GREATLY appreciate this!!!!!!!

No one has any input?

I did check out greatschools.net, so I have been researching. Just sometimes it helps to get an opinion from people living there or have heard anything about life there.

Default Friendswood

I reside in Friendswood and it is a graet place to live only 36,000 people. Two schools one is Brook which is good and Friendswood which is one of the best in Houston.Clear lake is very good also.I think you said you wanted to rent something ,Renting property zoned to Friendswood is not that easy .Most homes get rented before the other renters move out.Friendswood does not have many apts.We have not built any for 26 years .You could find rental property on the Brook side .Heritage village.I get the Friendswood paper and will advise if I find anything to rent.

Barbers Hill ISD, Mont Belvieu. Best school district by far, that no one seems to know about. Also, straight shot down 146, or GPW to work....
