El Dorado and NASA Rd 1 between I-45 and Hwy 3 have been rough for as long as I've been in Clear Lake, which is over 14 years. What has deteriorated over the past 5 years or so is the area along El Camino Real from El Dorado to NASA Rd 1. The trouble spots are all those apartments and townhomes, and further south has been flooded by illegal immigrants. Not long ago that used to be a semi-cool area; nowadays everyone is running for League City, Friendswood, and beyond.

But as you can see from the Spotcrime map the neighborhoods are fine. The swath from Brookwood to Pine Brook and down to Bay Forest have almost nothing going on, and the ''Bay'' neighborhoods have a couple of thefts. Really nothing has changed there.

BTW I have bowed out of Nextdoor, as it has been hijacked by a bunch of paranoid women.

I'm finding the clear lake nextdoor to be one big garage sale -- down to even selling underwear and all sorts of other items for $5 and less. I like it for the informative stuff that we. We'd to know like crime etc. but you sure have to weed through a lot of junk to get there. The lost pets threads don't bother much because I'm an animal lover so if something helps reunite a family with their pet, I won't oppose that.
