Hi everyone, this is my second post. I thank all that replied to my very first post.

Moving on, we were planning to buy a home in the southwest part of Houston in the sub 220k range. We looked at meadows place since alot of y'all suggested that in the previous threads but most homes are old (~1970s). What do y'all think of Barrington place? Some homes were built in the 1990s, don't have HOA, low taxes. Are there any other neighborhoods I should look at?
My son is in the academy(Elkins Highschool) so the specific zoning doesn't matter at this point. Other than that, I sometimes need to go to Houston so would appreciate highway access (either 90/59).

Barrington Place is pretty much on par with Meadows Place. Same middle and high school, different elementaries but both good.

I grew up in Barrington Place from 1985 until 1998 and attended Barrington Place Elementary from 1990 (its inaugural year) through 1996.

It was your quintessential middle-class, diverse, suburban neighborhood back then. Not sure what it's like now.

There maybe a small sliver of Huntington Village zoned to FBISD. Look at a zoning map for Dulles HS to confirm. Those houses would be okay, but the majority of Huntington would be Alief ISD.

From a safety standpoint, probably comparable. From schools and property value, not really the same as Barrington and Meadows.

Generally speaking in this area you want to be south of Bellfort.

Barrington Place is one of those neighborhoods that's technically in Sugar Land, but it doesn't feel like it. It's more like old school 1980's Sugar Land.

Have you consider Oak Hollow? It's right next to Barrington Place...low HOA (no club house/swimming pool) and the houses were bought in the early 2000's.

Barrington Place took a lot of Asian flight from Townewest and a little bit from Alief in the 90s. I remember that neighborhood well when it was brand new. Lots of extremely cheap square footage was the theme. Homes in Barrington made Townewest’s build quality look good.

Yep. My parents bought a 3 bed / 2 bath in Barrington Place for $65,000 in 1985.
