I'm not paying for cable just to watch the Rockets. They have been mediocre for years except the past year until they flamed out.

The NBA streaming service is pretty pricey and it looks like they black games out, too. I guess they don't plan to enter this decade and offer streaming of individual games or less expensive packets. I pay for HBO separately and rent movies online. But the only NBA streaming service is for NBA fanatics who want to watch ALL the games.

Does this bother anyone else? I have helped pay Dwight Howard's ridiculous contract for like 12 points and 9 boards a game.

Come on, give us casual fans a break with cheap streaming options and try to turn us into hard core fans again.

I'm on the same boat,
I don't have cable, but I use Roku.

You can get Sling with the sports package, and wait for TNT or NBATV to show a game, usually, is about once a month.

I did notice some free games during last year's playoff on the NBA roku app. It was backboard cam but not too bad. I saw like 4 playoff games on that.

Roku is so easy. I wish they would give a reasonable roku package.

Rockets have been a playoff team for several years now; they really haven't been mediocre since 2014.

If you don't consistently make it to the second round then you are mediocre by the numbers. It has been 21 years since we made the western conference finals.

Compared to the Texans, the Rockets are amazing

The Rockets were in the 2015 WCFs.

They have consistently made the 2nd round. They almost took the Warriors to 6 games in the WCF in 2015 and also a year later in 2016 during the first round. In 2015, 2 of the 4 games that we lost were decided by a single shot essentially in that Warriors series. GS has largely been considered one of the best NBA teams of all time statistically, if not the best team ever, yes even better than the 98 Bulls. I would say the fact that the Rockets and the Spurs have been the only real competition for GS in the west for the past 3-4 years more than enough proves that we're not mediocre. Just because you haven't been watching or paying attention, doesn't mean they haven't been relevant. They've been a top 5 teams in terms of title odds for several years now according to Vegas.

I just remember paying to go see some games and watching our superstar center get benched for the back-up to play and Harden choking against SA. I'm just saying they've been disappointing and need to win over the fan base (with reasonably priced streaming in my case) before I would consider paying real money to see them. Yes, I get that they are good but not so good they can take the fans for granted. Our cable fees are now supposed to finance role players getting paid like Jordan. I'm not paying! I mean Ryan Anderson getting 20 million a year - it's absurd. I'm voting with my wallet.
