That may be simpler than sending monthly checks to multiple tax entities.

With the possibility of the property tax deduction going away, consider paying property taxes before December 31st this year.
Great advice, and let me post it again. Pay your property taxes this year, before Dec 31, as there is a good chance you will not have this deduction available to you in 2018.

You pay the Harris County tax collector and your ISD in two separate checks. You can find your bill online. I have paid online but don't reccomend that if this is your first time since the online pay options are a bit confusing. For my ISD, you can literally drop them into a slot at that building on the weekend. The last weekend had hundreds of checks on the floor for workers on Monday morning to pick up.

Depends on the ISD. HISD is paid with the rest of the taking entities in one paymnet.

This! This applies if you are in Houston Independent School District (HISD). Many ways to pay: online (electronic check or credit card for a small fee), by mail and in person at the various Harris County annex courthouses (look up Harris County Tax Office-it lists locations). They have a shorter line just for property tax (separate from those paying for auto registration/license plates)- Pech Road (Spring Branch area) is one tax office I recommend if you are in the area. https://www.hctax.net/Property/PropertyTax

The property tax deduction is not going away, it is just being capped at $10,000.

Has anyone in Ft. Bend gotten their bill from the tax assessor yet? I still haven't received mine. I don't recall it being this late already without having received it.

Create a new savings account at your bank and auto-transfer money into it everyday and pay off the taxes, hoa and home insurance from that.

On taxes, property tax is a deduction. If they are planning to double the standard deduction, for most people property and charitable deductions won't matter any more.
