Looking at the waterhill homes on rusk at the EaDo location. Beautiful home but on our way out noticed a lot I mean a lot of panhandlers down the street under the highway. Did some research about the crime rate in the area and it looks pretty bad. But realtors are saying it’s an up and coming area and crime rate is not bad. Anyone live or have lived or have knowledge or input about living there? Specifically Rusk st. Thank you

You are asking for a very specific criteria for input, you may want to expand these parameters to get more responses.

I have not lived in this area nor do I have specific knowledge of the area, but I have known people who have, and I have never heard any horror stories about the area.

I know someone who lives in the area. They don’t have any problems with any significant crime. Outside of the usual big city petty stuff I have never felt unsafe in the area. Generally they tend to stay in that area under the bridge. They are no more bothersome than the folks that stand on the road all throughout Houston.

I also know friends who rent and own in the area. Never felt unsafe and none of my friends have felt uncomfortable living there.

I'd feel completely safe during the day. Wouldn't walk around at night though. I'd be more worried about loose pit bulls than violent crime.

If you were hoping to jog the area at night, then go elsewhere. If you plan to go to work, gym, etc and then go home and stay home, then ok.

I’d be more worried about the drunk people at the bars disturbing the peace than the crime.

I would thinking depends a great deal with your comfort level in transitional areas. you’re going to get a mix of residents and homeless I think there are many variables that come into play with comfort levels. My coworker is looking in town but because she is a single female she is looking for areas where she will feel safe outside day or night. However a male may have been fine with some of the areas she has turned down.

I've lived in this area since 2006 and haven't had any issues with crime. I do have a home security system, though - but that was after being robbed in places I lived previously off of Holcombe and in Clear Lake.

I like Eado a lot and intend on living here for a long time. It also has never flooded here (Rusk St) as long as I've been here.
