I have read that there is some sort of "who-is-better" tension between the two cities and I personally didn't "perceive" that in the time that I resided in Carrollton and Irving. Mind you, I am not an expert on both "metroplexes" but I will say that I enjoyed DFW very much, from working in Plano to going to the TCC in Downtown Ft. Worth.

I just think that DFW is very, maneuverable for someone without a car and fun for shoppers more so than Houston. Houston is BIG, humid, and it takes an hour to drive through...on a CLEAR day.

What do y'all say???

Is the rivalry more about sports or livability? (I am not a sports person)

Meh.

My kids like Great Wolf Lodge, and I think there are some nice lakes in the area.

Dallas seems like a good city to live, just like Houston.

So is it a tie?

Since I’ve never lived up in the metroplex, I don’t have nearly as much incite on it. But from my visits there, I’d say yes.

Dallas and Houston have more major pro sports teams than any other city in Texas. Here in SA, we have the Spurs, but that's it. Growing up in NE, it was all about Boston vs. NY. There's Detroit/Cleveland, LA/San Diego, etc. It's only natural.

It's a little more complex than it appears on the surface. It started when the butt-scratching boogerheads in Dallas started thinking they were even close to being as amazing as Houston.

And so it goes...

Don’t lump Fort Worth into this — they’re above the petty rivalry and the clear winner.

Fort Worth is in it whether they like it or not and nothing is clear about it..
