i have a3200 sq ft home that is empty. how much would you expect to pay for labor only? we are not painting the garage or closets, only the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, office, and common areas using 3 different colors. i am buying the paint and contracting the labor.

Not really when one ceiling needs to be replaced and one wall to also there are a lots of cracks. These 3 quotes are from painters that are from Angie's List now I could go cheaper but in 5 yrs I would see all the tape lines and nail heads you want quality work you have to pay for it.

My guy does around $1.35 to $1.50/SF of GLA, depending on interior wall configuration, doors, and trim, etc., but that is for one wall color and one trim color, sprayed.....includes patch/caulk/prep and cost of paint. No texture or major holes in that price

Well sure, adding a ceiling and walls into the mix will cost more than just painting and repairing cracks. But that still seems high. Have them use screws and not nails.

About $1 per square foot (that's square foot of area - not $1 per sq foot of wall). A 3000 sq ft house - $3000. You have to add in more if the rooms have a very high ceiling and need a scaffold.
