I like Tomball ISD over Cypress, unless you have a special needs child then Cypress might be better.

Default Tomball or Cypress schools

Both are excellent school districts. Cypress has become one of the fastest growing areas around Houston; lots of new large subdivisions and many new schools. Tomball, on the other hand, still maintains its small town feel and has more acreage type properties, so the population is less dense. It has not been affected as much by urban sprawl, so the school system is somewhat more stable in that respect.

We have had a child in both school districts and we like Tomball better. Many families have lived in the area for years and it still has a small town feel. I think both are excellent choices, it is more a matter of which lifestyle suits your needs. hth!

What about your commute? Is this a factor?

I think both places are fairly equal but I would check out http://www.greatschools.net and decide for yourself...

Also check out http://www.realtor.com (broken link) and do a search on the areas in question so you can decide.

I think any surburban area is going to give you activities for teens so I wouldn't concern yourself with this. Just find the best schools and the best commute for you!
