I have a empty propane tank and need a refill. Any places that are better than going to HD or Lowe's?

Walmart, Kroger, Academy or a local gas station. Gas stations will have the highest prices sometimes several dollars more than the other places mentioned.

Some Costco's, Katy for example, have refilling stations, I have found them to be cheap and reliable (if you're a member)

Many UHaul locations will fill propane tanks at a good rate. Not sure if they do exchanges.

Walgreens and CVS also have them. I believe Lowes and Home Depot too.

It's pretty much every where you're already going.
