lol Statistics. I also have an opinion on them, but I say live and let live and if anyone likes to believe everything they hear or read, so be it.

In other words “I’ve decided what I want to believe, so no amount of data will make me change my mind”.

I’m not one that cares about the “sanctity of life”. Whatever on that. But the idea that the death penalty deters crime is stupid. I’m just saying to be honest about why you want it.

There are no other words here. I did not say anything to this effect. As to being honest, how about this? I said it and I honestly believe it, the world is better off with certain people removed from it.

Now, you have your beliefs and opinions and I respect that. The short of it is, I am not arguing about this (or any other) issue with you. I recognize a dead end street when I see one so why can't you? Unless you just like to argue for argument's sake. "In other words" just let it be.

The thing about death penalties is that they cost a lot more than life in prison and from a "vengeance" standpoint it's actually more cruel to cage someone for life than to just release them of this life in a painless manner.

The world is moving away from the death penalty so history will be on the side of those opposed to it.

Back it up with these Gallop poll stats?

55% in favor of death penalty for convicted murderers.

This thread is about a mysterious and sad event that happened here in Houston. I've checked it a couple of times to see if anyone had any insight, but it turns out that after the first two pages there is zero insight and the topic has changed many times. I oppose the death penalty, btw, but why are we talking about it here?

Because some people try to politicize everything.
