I put in an application to rent a home in Richmond. It's a nice home. The area seems quiet. Anything I should know. It's a 23 minute commute (with no traffic of course) to my job on the Westpark Tollway. Is that parkway jammed up with traffic during rush hour? Should i consider an alternative route.

Is the area family oriented? Have good amenities, restaurants, stores, etc. The zip code I'll be living in is 77407.

I'm relocating to Houston in 2 weeks so i don't know much about certain areas and neighborhoods. Thanks.

Richmond is a nice, quiet, family oriented area. Very diverse. Westpark Tollway is discusting during rush hour. It's too narrow. Other times of day it's ok. Get an EZTag or some other "tag", you are going to need it.

Good luck and welcome.

I'm in 77407, and although I don't have kids, the neighborhoods seem very family oriented with events for the kids. rdz is right...Westpark is horrible at rush hour! Good luck!

The Richmond area is extremely family oriented. That's pretty much all it is around most of the area. There are tons of amenities and more going in all of the time.
