Hey all I will be visiting Houston from August 16-19. I will be hanging out in Galveston and will have a hotel in the Galleria area. I have never experienced Houston's nightlife. So where does it get crowded on the weekend nights ? Is there anything similar to deep ellum or uptown dallas in Houston? All answers would help.

Downtown and Midtown are the nightlife centers of Houston, those areas aren't just crowded on weekend nights, but they can get crowded on select weekdays.

For one, Main St. That cuts through the heart of MT and goes into Downtown. Travis St. is another major nightlife area of Midtown.

In Midtown, Main St. near Holman and Alabama. Even more so, Bagby and Brazos from McGowen to Gray, plus some nearby blocks.

In Downtown, around Market Square and the blocks along Main immediately east.

You could have been a little more helpful by directing him to the wine bars. Assuming he's looking for XX, of course.
