Has anyone use Texas DMV for lemon laws against new cars? Thank you.

My neighbor got her money back for a Nissan SUV that was in the shop more than at her house the first year. They didn't give her any grief.

Oh! May I ask how long did DMV take to investigate?? I had filed my complaint last Wednesday...My car is new with only 18 miles when I bought it but since it kept breaking down with the same issue and the dealership keep giving it back to me telling me they fixed it.. since May.... I am so tired of driving their loaner.. and I can’t stop paying the loan because I don’t want them to repossessed my car.

Have you contacted the car manufacturer to talk to the dealership? Call the customer care line for the manufacturer and tell them your story. They should intervene on your behalf with the dealership and get them to fix it once and for all. You can also ask the manufacturer to extend the car warranty as a goodwill gesture. Be sure to use the word "goodwill".

I did... I even hired a lemon law lawyer before but because the lawyer was working pro bono, he didn’t seem to put any efforts in trying to help me, just send standard legal letters to the manufacturer and the claim got denied. So I closed the case with the lawyer. The car has a major safety issue and I don’t think the dealership even know what’s the root cause is...
so now I am turning to DMV for help...

My friend's problem was acknowledged by the dealer. Nobody but the dealer had ever touched the car. They had all the records. The repairs met the very specific requirements to be declared a lemon.

My car has never been to any body shop other than the dealer... still under warranty. It was brand new when I bought it. I only managed to get one service record from them.. the rest I was told by them were no illegible so no one can understand it. But the same problem keeps coming back and it’s not fixed as they said it is. The last time I was told they reset the “hard drive” of the system and there weren’t any issues when they test drove it. But clearly the problem wasn’t fix because I am here asking for advise..
The car stalled in the middle of the highway... how is this not a safety issue??
