If you have music CDs that are of value, you can bring them to one of the record stores (Vinal Edge in Heights, Cactus Music near Rice Village) and get some money back. They sell used CDs and vinyls.

They don't pay you $25 per item. They will recycle up to 2 TVs/computer monitors per day if you pay THEM $25. My guess is they had lots of businesses trying to dump old CRT monitors on them to recycle so they had to start charging for those. And people tossing out the CRT TVs.

But yeah, I've taken other stuff like printers, cell phones, and UPS units there. You just take it to customer service and tell them you want to leave it for recycling.
