My mother owns a condo and has had mice for 2 months. she got an exterminator but the mice are still there. another unit has mice also.

I called up a different exterminator and they said in order to get rid of the mice the board should work with one exterminator treating all the units. treating one or two units is not going to get rid of them.

the board does not want to pay for extermination for even one unit let alone all the units.

it looks like infestation is inevitable . the people who might not have seen the mice probably do not want to pay for a exterminator either.

is there anything she can do? is it true the whole building needs to be treated?

can the residents make the board pay? if she called the board of health could they do anything?

from what that one exterminator said the whole building has to be treated or the mice will never go away. this sounds logical because they start from the first floor and go to the second floor and up. my mother is on the second floor.

if a really bad infestation happens will the town get involved?

thanks

I think calling outside authorities on your own condo association is a sure way to make enemies out of your neighbors. You have to build consensus. Maybe you could ask the exterminator if he would come and address the board and explain the situation?
